Mark D Cockburn  BA(Hons), CMIOSH, MIIRSM, FRSH, AIEMA 

Mark is a health and safety professional with over 30 years experience, he has worked in a range of industries from Construction, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Facilities Management, Off shore and  from 2000-2007 he was the Group Safety Manager for Mondi Packaging responsible for 75 factories worldwide.

 

In March 2007 Mark established ISS a safety consultancy initially targeting the packaging industry but the consultancy has rapidly grown to take in a full range of industries. 

In January 2008 Mark was appointed Director of Health & Safety for Valpak Recycling and and carries out that duty on a part time basis one day per week. 

In November 2008 Mark took on the chairmanship of Central Lancashire District of IOSH. 

Mark is passionate about safety and firmly believes in the mantra “Keep it Stupidly Simple”  and then there is a chance you will achieve your targets.

 

 

David Grainger CMIOSH, MIIRSM

Dave’s professional background has involved him working in fields such as the chemical industry, manufacturing, transport, training, development, facilities management and construction.

 

Prior to joining ISS as Principal Consultant, Dave was the UK SHE Manager for Mondi having previously spent 6 years there as a Divisional Safety Manager.  This role saw him working not only in the UK but across mainland Europe and Russia. 

 

Dave’s background in transport, logistics and training has seen him train over 500 lift truck operators to RTITB and ITSSAR standards and also to NVQ level 3 standard in warehousing and distribution.

He has been a member of IOSH since 2005, became chartered in 2007 and is involved with the local branch meetings.  Dave has also been involved with the Lancashire Occupational Health and Safety Group.

 

 

 

Pete Aspin

Pete has over 26 years experience in the contracting industry as an electrical technician, working and managing contracts on new and existing facilities, covering all aspects of the industry.

 

In 2006 Pete took the position of Health and Safety Advisor for a Contracting and Facilities Management Company. This role covered all parts of the business and included working closely with clients such as BAE Systems, Polls-Royce, Johnson Matthey and BNFL. Pete has obtained his Nebosh Construction Certification and is currently working towards an NVQ4 in Occupational Health and Safety and a Degree in Environmental Studies.

 

 

Terry Keeling

Terry began his career by joining Tube Investments on their Graduate Training Scheme, working at Creda, Russell Hobbs and Tower Housewares, in the Domestic Appliance Division. He then moved to Courtaulds, where he was Human Resource Director in both the chemical and fibre divisions. His final move was to Mondi Packaging, part of the Anglo American Corporation, where he worked as European Human Resource Director, based in Vienna.

 

Having worked in the full range of human resources activities including recruitment, retention, industrial relations, reengineering, restructuring, redeployment, training and development, pensions and safety, his interest latterly focused more on the behavioural aspect of improving performance.

 
 

Nicolas Blake

Nicholas is a Cambridge graduate and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He founded a charity for single homeless and disabled people and ran this successfully for 7 years. Nicholas worked for Courtaulds plc, a multinational industrial group for 19 years in successive middle and senior Human Resources jobs in different industry sectors. As part of his development with Courtaulds he managed a business centre for start up entrepreneurs. Thereafter he was assigned to the Management Charter Initiative, a Government programme to improve the standard of UK management.  Latterly he was HR Director for a major Courtaulds’ Division.

 

From 1996 Nicholas then worked for Amcor, an Australian based global packaging company, and was instrumental in establishing the HR function in Europe. This included recruitment, remuneration, employee communications, setting up an European Works Council, training and development, reorganisation, disposals and acquisitions, change management and safety. Nicholas has also been a director of 25 UK and European companies with responsibility for corporate governance issues.

     

 

 

Barry P. Knight B Eng (Hons)              

Barry is a registered consultant and boasts 20 years of experience in the implementation and maintenance of Hygiene, Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management systems.

Unlike many consultants who approach quality management from an auditor's perspective, Barry has many years of industry experience and views the approach on management systems that serves its client first and the auditor second.

 

Barry has implemented management systems in a number of diversified industries including structural engineering, paper and plastic food packaging, corrugated fibreboard packaging and waste recycling.

     
 

Graham M Crowson

With over 38 years experience in the engineering sector of the corrugated packaging industry Graham operates with a hands-on approach.  He believes maintenance is an absolute priority, together with plant safety and production efficiency.  Reliability being the key to success.  Previous projects include the installation of all major equipment at Amcor(Mold) .

 

Graham was the Engineering Project Manager for Model Board (Preston) initial full installation.  He has been responsible for many machinery acquisitions, moves and installations and is fully aware of the CDM Regulations . As the Operations Director for Mold he was responsible for all engineering and production issues on site.
